Cheryl Ridgway is the founder and director of Get a Life-coach.
You may wonder why I decided to become a life coach. Here is a little of my story...
Having been diagnosed with glaucoma at the age of 10, I am a member of the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind (RNZFB). Being visually impaired hasn't slowed me down, and if anything, has given me courage to face any challenges. I've had some unique experiences including the privilege of having a guide dog for 8 years and participating in blind sailing. | Achieving two half marathons since turning 40, and being a keen Ceroc dancer has been something I thought I would never be able to do. However, not one for allowing a challenge to slip by, I seized these opportunities when they arose. |
Family is a focal point of my world. Two sons keep me on the go and I treasure watching their growth and development.
Previous work roles have provided me with a great range of experiences. I’ve been a partner in a roofing company, worked for two charities as a fundraiser, held a variety of retail and administration positions and worked for local government.
Recognising there was still room for personal growth, I partnered with a coach. This helped me to identify that the common thread through my previous work roles was the enjoyment of seeing great things happen when people see and achieve their potential.
Becoming a professional coach myself was a natural progression. I trained with Coach U, the leading global provider of coach training programs and registered as a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF). The ICF exists to build, support and preserve the integrity of the coaching profession. | |
| Today, my personal mission is to assist others to discover their own passion, wonder and fulfilment from the coaching and motivational speaking services I deliver. Assisting people to make wonderful things happen – what a buzz! | |
